NHVDL Migrates to Virtual Server

In February 2016, after a year of planning, we migrated the lab’s information management system and medical database from an outdated server to a virtual server.   This new server, operated by and on the UNH campus, has significantly greater reliability, speed, security and backups.  These virtual servers are operated at the same level and by the same department that manages the university’s most critical data systems.   This migration also included significant updates to and coordination with our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).  While more expensive than the old system, we’re very excited about the improved quality this brings to the lab and our clients.
